Instagram Testing ‘Collab’ Feature in India
Instagram, owned by Facebook, has announced the testing of a new feature called ‘Collab’ in India, allowing users to collaborate on Feed Posts and Reels.
Collaborative Content Creation
With the ‘Collab’ feature, users can invite collaborators to their Feed Posts and Reels, enabling them to share the content with their own followers. Once accepted, the collaborator will be credited as an author, and the content will be shared to their Profile Grid and followers in the Feed. Both collaborators will have access to shared feedback.
Testing in India
India is one of the two countries chosen for the initial testing phase of this feature, as stated by Instagram in a recent blog post.
How It Works
To utilize the ‘Collab’ feature, users need to follow these steps:
- Upload a Feed post or create a Reel as usual.
- Upon reaching the share screen, select the “Tag People” option.
- Click on “Invite Collaborator” to invite a collaborator.
- Search for the desired account and add them as a collaborator. Note that only public accounts participating in the test can be invited.
- Once the invitation is accepted, the collaborator will be added to the tag screen and acknowledged in the post header.
Conclusion
Instagram’s ‘Collab’ feature aims to enhance collaborative content creation, offering users a new way to engage with their followers and expand their reach. As the testing phase progresses, users in India and the other selected country will provide valuable feedback to refine and improve this feature before its wider rollout.
