Goodies Santa Monica Store: A Design Collaboration with Sheft Farrace

Los Angeles-based home goods brand, Goodies, has unveiled its latest store in Santa Monica, marking another milestone in its partnership with architects Sheft Farrace. This collaboration traces back to 2017 when Sheft Farrace designed the brand’s first pop-up store on Melrose Place. Following the success of this venture, Sheft Farrace was commissioned to design Goodies’ inaugural brick-and-mortar store in Atwater Village in 2018, and now, they have returned to craft the new Santa Monica location.

A Vibrant Interior Palette

The original pop-up store introduced Goodies’ distinctive marigold color blocking, a design choice aimed at making a bold statement to attract customers. This vibrant color scheme has become synonymous with the brand’s identity. In the new Santa Monica store, the architects have embraced this signature palette, enveloping the interior in shades of marigold. The expansive glass storefront serves as a captivating canvas, showcasing Goodies’ affordable yet stylish products.

Elevated Merchandising Experience

At the heart of the Santa Monica store is a spacious ash island, anchoring the open merchandising concept. Hand-picked olive trees from the San Fernando Valley add a touch of natural elegance to the space. To enhance the shopping experience, custom shopping basket niches have been integrated into the cabinetry, inviting customers to explore the store and curate their selections.

Bridging High Quality and Affordability

Goodies prides itself on offering high-quality ceramics and stoneware at prices that defy traditional home goods boutiques. This unique concept has cultivated a dedicated following in Los Angeles, with the brand’s merchandise drops drawing long lines and sparking social media buzz. Recognizing the store’s potential to become a social media sensation, the architects have designed a striking 20-foot ash-louvered feature wall, adorned with a large mirror, creating an ideal backdrop for fan photography.

A Vision for the Future

The collaboration between Goodies and Sheft Farrace extends beyond the Santa Monica store, with plans underway to launch additional stores throughout Southern California. By seamlessly blending high design with affordability, Goodies is poised to continue its ascent as a leader in the home goods market, with Sheft Farrace at the helm of its architectural vision.
